Deontay Wilson

AFL NOTES: In the search for young talent, the Dallas Desperados signed Deontay Wilson on Oct. 22. Wilson will be looking to earn a spot on the receiving depth chart in Dallas as he is reunited with Desperados receiving coach Bo Gilliard, who was Wilson’s position coach at Prairie View A&M.

COLLEGE: Wilson finished his collegiate campaign leading all receivers in three of his four seasons at Prairie View A&M. He racked up 2,530 yards and 20 touchdowns on 143 catches. 2001 � As a senior, Wilson led all receivers, hauling in 49 passes for 844 yards and eight scores. 2000 � He was second on the team in receiving with 21 catches for 424 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. 1999 � Wilson led all receivers for the second consecutive season with 38 receptions for 599 yards and six touchdowns. 1998 � As a freshman, Wilson led the team with 45 receptions for 663 yards and three touchdowns.

PERSONAL: Wilson was a standout receiver at Carol City High School in Miami, Fla. He was also a member of the track team, participating in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays and in the triple and long jumps. Wilson received a degree in accounting from Prairie View. He played high school and college football with Desperados teammate Bobby Perry.
