AFL NOTES: Bobby Perry has steadily become one of the Desperados most reliable tacklers on the team as evidenced by his 2007 campaign which saw him finish second in tackles (60.5) for the second straight season. He came to the Desperados in 2005 with limited professional experience - two years in the Canadian Football League - and was able to quickly get a hang of the indoor game, playing in 15 games as a reserve defensive specialist as a rookie, then as a reserve in 2006 before becoming the club's starting Jack linebacker in 2007.

AFL 2007 (Dallas): In 2007, Perry started every game at JLB where he increased his tackles total for the third consecutive season. While finishing second in tackles (60.5), Perry also ranked second on the team in special teams tackles (15.5), was tied for first in fumble recoveries (four) and tied for third on the team in interceptions (three). Perry opened the season at New York (3/4) with three tackles, one pass defensed, one interception and two fumble recoveries. At Orlando (3/26) he led the team with seven tackles and also had one pass breakup. Against Austin (3/31) he finished second in tackles with six along with one tackle for loss and one pass defensed. Perry recorded his second interception of the season against Nasville (4/27) along with four tackles and recovered an onside kick attempt and returned it four yards for a touchdown. He tallied a season and career-best 11.0 tackles against Chicago (5/14) along with a half tackle for loss. At Columbus (5/26) Perry made four tackles, two pass breakups, one interception and a forced fumble. He had five tackles against New Orleans (6/9). Perry led the team in tackles with six against New York (6/16) and also forced a fumble while assisting the defense in forcing five turnovers and yielding the lowest yardage total (138) and second-lowest point total (13) in franchise history. At Colorado (6/25) he was named Defensive Player of the Game, posting four tackles, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Perry started his first career playoff game against Columbus (7/7) and had a team-high six tackles along with two passes defensed.

AFL 2006 (Dallas): Perry played in 16 games as a two-way player for the Desperados, making contributions both offensively and defensively. Perry finished third on the team in tackles (50.0) and passes defensed (11) and fourth in interceptions (three). He was fifth with 17 receptions for 174 yards (third) and three touchdowns on offense. In the season opener against Kansas City (1/29), Perry tied for second on the team with six tackles and caught one pass for five yards. At Utah (2/4) Perry came up with his first interception of the year, added 2.5 tackles and two pass breakups. At Columbus (2/11) he finished third on the team with two tackles and also added two receptions for 21 yards. Against Austin (2/17) Perry notched two stops before stepping in as the defensive specialist in place of Jermaine Jones. Against Las Vegas (2/25) he recorded a season-high in receptions (four) and receiving yards (44 yards) on offense while adding a tackle, two pass breakups and forcing a fumble on defense. Perry led the team and recorded a single-game career-high with 10.5 stops at Chicago (3/5) while also adding a pass breakup and three receptions for 37 yards. At Tampa Bay (3/12) Perry recorded his second interception of the season, had four tackles, recovered a fumble and caught one pass for 14 yards. At Orlando (3/19) he added two catches for 31 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown grab, and added two stops on defense before posting one tackle and a pass breakup against Philadelphia (3/25). Perry recorded his third interception of the season against Columbus (4/1) to go along with his two tackles and a pass breakup. At New York (4/9) he led the team with four tackles and had one catch for seven yards. Against Grand Rapids (4/15) he had a three-yard touchdown catch and three tackles before tying for the team lead with six tackles at Georgia (4/22). Against Arizona (4/28) he added two stops and a pass breakup then recorded a tackle at Philadelphia (5/6). Against New York (5/12) Perry had two catches for 12 yards, including a one-yard scoring catch, and added a tackle on defense. Perry was inactive for the Desperados playoff games against Georgia (5/27) and Orlando (6/4).

AFL 2005 (Dallas): As a rookie, Perry saw time in 15 games and finished fourth on the team with 45.0 tackles. He was inactive in the season opener against Chicago (1/30), but made his AFL debut the next week at New York (2/6) and notched his first career tackle. He picked up his play the next week against Columbus (2/13) and earned Defensive Player of the Game honors after posting two stops, one for a loss and a pass breakup on the Destroyers final attempt to take the lead. He added two tackles and a deflection against Orlando (2/17) before earning Ironman of the Game honors against New Orleans (3/5), posting two tackles, an interception that set up a touchdown, one catch for six yards and a net recovery he returned for a touchdown (3/5). He was second on the team at Austin (3/13) with five tackles and against Colorado (3/25) with four tackles. In the game against the Crush, Perry recorded his first AFL offensive touchdown on a 17-yard reception. He tallied three tackles against Nashville (4/8), and four stops in back-to-back games at San Jose (4/15) and at Columbus (4/22). Perry saw extensive time in place of Hamin Milligan (groin) and posted two tackles against New York (4/29). He stepped in again in place of Milligan at Las Vegas (5/7) and came away with his second interception of the season, two tackles and a deflection. In the season finale against Philadelphia (5/22), Perry earned the starting nod in place of the injured Milligan and responded with a team and season-high eight tackles and a pass breakup.

OTHER PRO EXPERIENCE: 2004 - Perry re-signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL and recorded three tackles in two games as a reserve linebacker before being released following Week Three. 2003 - Perry made his CFL debut with the Roughriders and collected 11 tackles and nine special teams stops. He added his first career interception in the Western Conference Semi-Final game.

COLLEGE: Perry finished his career at Prairie View A&M with 173 tackles, 27 pass breakups and 13 interceptions. As a senior, Perry moved back to safety and racked up 78 tackles and six interceptions - returning one for a touchdown - to earn team MVP and Southwestern Athletic Conference honors. He started his first three seasons at cornerback and posted seven interceptions over that three-year span.

PERSONAL: Perry was a standout safety at Carol City High School in Miami, Fla. He earned a degree in education from Prairie View. Perry annually joins teammates in visiting local Boys & Girls Clubs as part of the Desperados Impact Player Program. As part of the program, Perry helps with homework, arts and crafts and plays basketball with the at-risk children served by the club's after school program. He also volunteers his time at local children's hospitals in an effort to raise the patients' spirits. In 2007 Perry also joined the U.S. Army in hosting a one-day camp at Texas Stadium for local high school football players.
