Are their any individuals, whom in whatever part of the world they live in or have been in, able to share stories of any random run ins they may have had with criminals from any well known "Organized Criminal Gangs" ? Yakuza stories preferably would be of interest to me, as seeing how im planning on visiting Japan next year. But other encounters individuals have had, and their experiences with them would be much appreciated too. Thanks and share, share , share ! Those stories.

I live in a neighborhood that was previously controlled by a prison gang known as La Eme or the Mexican Mafia. A few years ago the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), a Salvadoran gang started moving in to take over the drug sales here. The result has been gunshots, screaming, police helicopters and constant security concerns as these two gangs fight over this tiny little piece of L.A. Also tons of tagging on houses, cars, even trees. Not Yakuza, sorry, but certainly these two gangs present a far greater danger to the US than any Asian gang does.

I’m looking into two way communcation systems for biker helmets. Turns out there’s more out there than I thought there was. What brands and models are out there so I can start doing more homework on them. I know of Nolan (I know, helmet specific) and Parrot, but what else?

All humans have a number of basic needs. (see Maslow) However, there are two basic needs that take precedent over all others.
1. The need to love and be loved. (romantic, friendship, family, etc.)
2. The need to be worthwhile and be recognized as worthwhile. (sense of belonging, achievement)

These needs can be conscious or sub conscious. If they are not met in a positive way, we will seek them in a negative way. We have no control over this situation.

Young people join gangs even though the gang may be involved in really negative behaviour. Why? Because their two basic needs are not being met at home, at school, in the neighbourhood, whatever. These folks would rather feel the sense of belonging, trust, love, acceptance, loyalty even though it means being a part of criminal behaviour, violence, etc.
That is the rock upon which gangs form and stay together over all else. If a member’s life feels threatened by other gang members or rejected for whatever reason, he or she may then decide to leave.

When i think of vests, be it leather or denim, Harley riders come to mind. Why are street bikers wearing vests? They have their patch on the back and all. In my mind they look like posers.

Vests have been worn since the time of cowboys, I wonder if the above think they are posers too. As far as protection goes, the vest will protect the body the same as a full jacket would in the case of a spill, just without the arm protection.
